Local dentist is reminding everyone to brush their teeth this Halloween

PRINCE GEORGE—Halloween is fast approaching and for some parents the scariest part about it might be the health of their children’s teeth. However Dr. Jasper Huang, an associate dentist at Family Dental, says that theirs nothing to fear as long as they get a good cleaning after.

Dr. Huang says that even he has a sweet tooth, adding that it’s all about balance. While the bacteria feeds off of the sugar we can just as easy clean it off with a thorough brushing.

However, even if you brush your teeth some of the sticky sugar can get stuck in between your teeth. Dr. Huang adds that this is why a good flossing is really important.

“We always say that the teeth stick together really closely and they’re like the best of friends and you can’t separate them,” says Dr. Huang. “If I sat here brushing for ten minutes, I may not get the spots in between. Flossing is also very important.”

As for what Dr. Huang is looking for when trick or treating, he says he loves Smarties.

” there’s something so colorful and enjoyable about it,” enthuses Dr. Huang.
