UNBC hosts open house for Human and Health Sciences
PRINCE GEORGE – The University of Northern British Columbia’s Faculty of Human and Health Sciences and Division of Medical Sciences will host an Open House to highlight programs in Psychology, Education, Health Sciences, Nursing, Social Work, and the Northern Medical Program.
The event aims to provide prospective students and their families with comprehensive insights into these academic offerings, with UNBC faculty and staff available to answer questions about admissions, curriculum, and career opportunities. The Open House will showcase undergraduate and graduate programs in key fields such as Psychology, Nursing, Social Work, Education, and Health Sciences.
Attendees will also learn about the Northern Medical Program and Master programs in Physical and Occupational Therapy, delivered in partnership with UBC. And they are all professions that are and will be in high demand.
“Our job as educators is to promote health and wellness or health and healing and wellness because we’re firm believers that, if the individual is healthy, then the succession will come out of the students,” explains Dr Tina Fraser, Chair of the School of Education. ‘”You can’t get away from the stress level that happens that occurs in these professions. And we’re a professional body. So we not only have to adhere to the University of Northern British Columbia, but also to our regulatory bodies throughout the province, who allows us to get become certified in our respective professions.”
