Hundreds celebrate longtime Prince George-Valemount MLA Shirley Bond
PRINCE GEORGE— On Friday night, over 350 people gathered at the Coast Hotel to celebrate the decades of hard work in the community of Prince George and the entire province of B.C. done by Shirley Bond.
Bond’s career ended unexpectedly this year when the B.C. United Party suspended their campaign. Despite the abrupt ending, Friday night showed just how much support she’s gathered over her two plus decades as an MLA.
“She is the longest serving female cabinet minister in British Columbia’s history, longer than Grace McCarthy. She is the longest serving female MLA in Prince George history and she is an incredible champion for the North,’ said former B.C. Premier Christy Clark at the event.
