Timberwolves’ basketball teams fall to UBC Okanagan Heat

KELOWNA — Strong individual performances were not enough for the men’s and women’s UNBC Timberwolves basketball teams on Friday (Nov. 1) in their Canada West season openers.
In men’s action, Justin Sunga had a career-high 21 points in a 91-71 loss to the UBC Okanagan Heat (1-1) in Kelowna.
The T-Wolves (0-1) will host the TRU WolfPack (1-0) on Sunday, a 4 p.m. start at Northern Sport Centre.
On the women’s side, Viktoriia Filatova recorded 19 points and five steals for UNBC (0-1) in a losing effort, with hometown UBC Okanagan (2-0) prevailing 84-64.
