Dawson Creek RCMP renew plea for information on teenager who went missing in 2016

DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — Dawson Creek RCMP are renewing their call for information on a teenager who went missing more than eight years ago.

In a news release issued Thursday (Nov. 7), RCMP say the investigation into Denny Poole’s disappearance remains active with Mounties investigating leads and following up on information.

On March 12, 2016, RCMP were told of two male youths walking along the Alaska Highway near Kiskatinaw River.

“Police patrolled the area and located one of the youths on the Old Alaska Highway. It appeared the two youths had gotten separated,” RCMP state. “The outstanding youth, Denny Poole, continued walking along the Alaska Highway toward Fort. St John while the second youth turned back to Dawson Creek.”

Poole was last seen walking across the Kiskatinaw River Bridge at around 7:10 p.m. on March 12, 2016.

At the time of his disappearance, Poole was described as a 15-year-old Indigenous man standing 5’6” and weighing nearly 130 lbs. with short black hair that was long in the front. He was reportedly last seen wearing size 10 men’s Osiris high top shoes – purple, green, blue and black – along with blue jeans, a grey hoodie with a DC logo on the front and a black flat brimmed hat.
