Spruce Kings outlast Capitals 6-5 in overtime in back-and-forth tilt
PRINCE GEORGE β The Prince George Spruce Kings defeated the Cowichan Valley Capitals 6-5 in overtime in a wild, back-and-forth home game Friday (Nov. 8).
The Spruce Kings started hot with three goals in the first 12 minutes before the Capitals responded with three goals β all on the power play β to make it 3-3 after the first period.
Prince George and Cowichan traded a pair of goals in the second period before the offence dried up in the third.
In overtime, tied 5-5, Ethan Montroy dropped the puck for Brock Cummings who sent it right back to Montroy to put it into the open net and secure the 6-5 win.
