PRINCE GEORGE — Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for parts of the Cariboo Saturday, Nov. 16.

It says areas near the Cariboo Mountains including Wells, Likely, Hendrix Lake and along higher terrain in Prince George will get between 10 and 20 cms of snow today.

Areas of Highway 16 are also covered by the snowfall warning which stretches south to include places like Williams Lake, Quesnel and Blue River.

“A storm system will cross the central BC Interior today, bringing heavy snow to parts of the region,” the forecaster said. “Areas nearer the Cariboo Mountains can expect to receive the brunt of the snowfall. Areas further west, along the highway 97 corridor, can expect lesser amounts.”

“Prince George will see 5 cm of snowfall accumulations, however 10 cm is forecast over higher terrain.”

While the snow is expected to ease up early this evening, Environment Canada there is the possibility of some flurries possibly lingering through the overnight hours.

Motorists are advised to prepare for poor visibility and treacherous road conditions.
