PRINCE GEORGE— Josh Ravensbergen has taken the WHL by storm since he overtook the Cougars net last season and he’s getting recognized for his play. Next week he will be in Oshawa and London, Ontario for the 2024 CHL USA Prospect Challenge.

“Seeing it as a little kid and wanting to get there one day because it was in Vancouver one year, so I’m super pumped I was able to get the invite and turn it into a reality,” said Ravensbergen on getting the call for the event.

Along with the six foot five frame of the 17-year-old, he also has the on ice abilities that attract NHL scouts.

“They (scouts) look for the ability to move around really quick, which he has. The skills and natural talent that Josh has is in incredible and that’s why he’s going to these top prospects games,” said Cougars General Manager and Head Coach Mark Lamb on his goaltender.

Though his skills on the ice are impressive, It’s not just the physical ability that makes Ravensbergen a projected first rounder this upcoming NHL Draft.

“He’s a great teammate. The guys love him. He knows how to win, and he knows how to show up the next day if he’s not playing the way that he likes, he knows how to improve that, how to change that and he goes to work,” said Cougars Goaltender Coach Taylor Dakers

Ravensbergen will sharpen his skills even more when he travels to Ontario to play with and against the top prospects in North America on November 26 and 27.
