Toxic drug alert issued for Prince George

PRINCE GEORGE — Northern Health has issued a toxic drug alert for Prince George.

In a statement Friday (Dec. 6), it said a red chunk being sold as “down” has tested positive for carfentanil and high levels of bromazolam has been linked to overdoses.

Health officials are urging people to not use drugs alone and to carry naloxone.

People are also being urged to get their drugs tested at Two Doors Down, located at 1126 3rd Ave in Prince George. Drug checking is available between 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Wednesday to Saturday.

Northern Health says this drug alert will be in place until Dec. 20
