Jared Young signs with Mets

NEW YORK — Prince George native Jared Young has signed a one-year deal with the New York Mets.
The 29-year-old finished off last season with the Doosan Bears of the Korea Baseball Organization, where he hit .326 with 10 home runs and 39 RBI in 38 games.
During his most recent season in Major League Baseball in 2023 with the Cubs, Young hit .186 with two home runs and eight RBI in 16 games.
He made his debut in Major League Baseball on Sept. 16, 2022, with the Cubs and hit .263 in six games.
