Cougars beat Rockets 5-3

KELOWNA — The Prince George Cougars defeated the Kelowna Rockets Tuesday night before 3,862 fans at Prospera Place in Kelowna.
Defenseman Viliam Kmec scored the game-winning goal at the 11:20 mark of the third period. It was his sixth goal of the season. Terik Parascak added an empty netter with 48 seconds left in the game to seal the win. It was Parascak’s 16th goal of the year.
With the win, the Cougars improved their record to 18-9-3-2, good for 41 points and first place in the B.C. Division.
The Cougars resume play on December 27 in Victoria.
