Potential improvements on the way for Fox Drive
PRINCE GEORGE – Residents of Fox Drive received some welcome news during this week’s City Council meeting, as Council passed a motion approving a motion to pave the road. It’s a move Councillor Tim Bennett has been strongly requested by people living in the area.
“There’s been a lot of consultation back and forth with the community. Council approved a local area service enhancement, which will go back to the residents to give them a vote in terms of if they are interested in contributing towards the paving of Fox Drive,” Bennett said.
“The 29 resident households will have an opportunity to have a vote. And if that passes, then it will come back in front of council and the project will be added to next year’s capital plan, which then the up to $215,000 will be split between the 29 households. So approximately, $7,900 each, which will be payable over a 20 year period,” he continued.
Bennett explained that Fox Drive used to have recycled asphalt millings placed on the surface to temporarily improve surface conditions and mitigate dust, but in 2023 the road was pulverized, leading to its current state as a gravel road.
