PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Spruce Kings have signed a new goalie for the remainder of this season.

Dylan Johnson is 6’1 and 202 pounds and hails from Dallas, Texas. He played six games this year in the USHL this season, putting up a 3-2 record with a 3.73 goals against average and a .853 save percentage.

Prior to his time in the USHL, Johnson spent two seasons in the NAHL, winning the Robertson Cup with the Oklahoma Warriors in 2023. In 34 games, he put up a 14-15-1-2 record with a 2.81 GAA and .914 save percentage.

“We are extremely fortunate that Dylan was available and was very interested in joining our team,” said Hawes. “He’s a veteran goaltender who will come in and work with Ryder Green as we look to have a great second half of the season.”

The Kings signed Johnson as current goalie Colin Reay requires season-ending surgery.

“Colin had an MRI over the break on an existing groin/hip injury,” said Spruce Kings General Manager Mike Hawes. “A tear was discovered that requires immediate season ending surgery. Colin has been a great addition to our program, and we look forward to him rejoining us for the 2025-2026 season.”

Johnson is in Prince George and will be in the lineup when the Spruce Kings return to the ice Saturday night at 6 p.m. when they host the Nanaimo Clippers. The teams meet again on Sunday at 3 p.m.
