In addition to the Limited Duration Two-Year Operating Grant, the City will be launching the following grant streams in January 2025 aligned with the City’s Strategic Goals:

  • myPG Community Grant: up to $10,000 for projects that contribute to making Prince George a great community.
  • Quick Response Micro Grant: up to $2,500 for smaller projects, projects with short timelines & are ideal for applicants new to the grants process.
  • Capacity Building Grant: up to $1,500 for assistance with upgrading skills and knowledge of staff and volunteers to improve the performance of that organization to the benefit of the community.

Council was updated in November on improvements to the grants process, following consultations with not-for-profit organizations. The revised program will include multiple grant streams—project-based, operating, quick response, capacity-building, and pooled—totaling $395,724 for 2025.

The changes introduce more targeted grant streams offering greater flexibility and options for applicants. The program also allows for minor capital expenses and administrative fees, alongside a streamlined application and reporting process. Continuous feedback will drive ongoing improvements to ensure the program meets community needs and aligns with the City’s 2023-2026 Strategic Plan for efficient service delivery. A review will be conducted at the end of each grant cycle to support this process, and an annual report will be submitted to the Council to track progress.
