CHILLIWACK — The Prince George Spruce Kings gave up four power play goals in a 5-2 defeat to the Chilliwack Chiefs Saturday (Jan. 4) night.

Skogen Schrott and Will Moore had the Kings up 2-1 after 20 minutes at the Chilliwack Coliseum, with Schrott’s goal coming inside the opening two minutes.

The Chiefs went 4-for-4 on the power play, with a pair of goals from Brady Milburn making it a 2-2 game after two periods. Miburn scored at 11:08 of the first to make it a 2-1 game, and tied things up in the final minute of the second.

The third period belonged to Carter Anderson, who scored a natural hat-trick. His first two goals at 5:00 and 7:17 of the third were on the power play, while the third at 18:28 was scored into the empty net.

Anderson, a 20-year-old from Thompson, Manitoba also assisted on Milburn’s tying goal, to finish with a four-point game Saturday.

The Spruce Kings were unable to score during any of their three power-play opportunities.

Sebastien Gatto picked up the win with a 22 save effort in the Chilliwack net. Ryder Green took the loss for the Spruce Kings with 29 saves on 33 shots.
