Spruce Kings defenseman commits to TSU
PRINCE GEORGE—The Prince George Spruce Kings’ defenseman Trent Ballentyne is on his way to Tennessee next season. The London, Ontario native has committed to Tennessee State University for the 2025-2026 season.
“I’m super excited to be part of Tennessee State University’s inaugural season,” says Ballentyne. “I’m grateful for the opportunity that Coach Abercrombie has presented me with and I can’t wait to get started next year.”
Currently, Ballentyne is in his second season with the Spruce Kings, where he has posted two goals and eight assists in 30 games. Ballentyne is up from last year where he posted two goals and six assists in 30 games.
“We are excited for Trent. In the two seasons he has been with us, he has made great strides as a hockey player and as a person,” enthuses Brad Tesink, head coach for the Spruce Kings. “We will continue to work hard to make sure Trent is in the best position for success when he starts his college hockey journey next season.”
