Grand Tour of Caledonia begins January 13

PRINCE GEORGE—This is your last chance to sign up for the Grand Tour of Caledonia.

Gear up for the annual six week cross country ski challenge. Starting Monday January 13 the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club will release a map of trails for you to complete. There will then be a new map and a new challenge every single week.

“The reason it was designed is to get people out on different trails they don’t usually ski on,” explains Carolyne Thorp with the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club. “The trails are marked and there’s a map they have more confidence in trying out these new trails.”

One of the two trails will be easier making it an accessible winter event for all skill levels. Thorp adds that the easier trail on Monday will consist of the flatter areas while the advanced trail will be in the hillier areas of the park.

Register online at caledonianordic.com and you’ll be eligible for the draw prizes. A Custom Toque, or Medal is available to purchase after you complete the six week challenge. The Grand Tour of Caledonia ends on February 23.
