PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Spruce Kings have signed a pair of players for the rest of the 2024-2025 BCHL season.

The team announced the signing of 19-year-old centre Corson Maguire and 18-year-old goaltender Benjamin Polhill Sunday (Jan. 12) afternoon.

Maguire, a five-foot-10 Toronto native has 14 goals and 16 assists in 34 games with the Amarillo Wranglers of the North American Hockey League, good for second in team scoring.

A graduate of the Bishop Kearney Selects program, Maguire scored 32 goals and added 21 assists in 18U AAA play in the 2022-23 season.

“We’re excited to add Corson,” Spruce Kings General Manager Mike Hawes said. “He’s a hard working player who can produce offensively while also playing a well rounded game. His addition to our forward group really enhances our depth at that position.”

Polhill is a six-foot-three native of Cochrane, Alta., who has a 5-10-3 record in 20 games with the Estevan Bruins of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. He has a 3.30 Goals Against Average and a .898 save percentage.

“Ben is big athletic goalie who will come in and battle for the net,” Hawes said. “Healthy internal competition for the net is a good thing and will make our team better.”
