QUESNEL — Prince George-North Cariboo Conservative MLA and Deputy Whip Sheldon Clare will host a transportation town hall at the Quesnel Senior’s Centre (461 Carson Ave) Friday night (Jan.17) from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

He will be joined by Harman Bhangu, the Conservative MLA for Langley-Abbotsford and also the party’s Transportation Critic.

“The region faces considerable complex transportation issues,” says Clare. “These transportation needs are not just important to our region but critical to the province and country.”

He says key transportation issues include:

North South Interconnector

The Quesnel North-South Interconnector is a proposed long-term transportation improvement that would increase safety and significantly reduce congestion, allowing commercial vehicles to avoid compromising the downtown core.

Cariboo Road Recovery Projects

From landslides to road washouts, road users across the North Cariboo have been adversely affected in recent years. Through the Ministry of Transportation and Transit, the Cariboo Road Recovery Projects are at various stages of redress across the region.

Road Maintenance

Ongoing winter season road maintenance issues and general upkeep throughout the year.

“Transportation issues throughout the province are in critical need of being addressed,” says Bhangu. “We have aging infrastructure requiring urgent attention and I look forward to hearing from residents of the North Cariboo about this and other matters they bring forward.”
