‘Small item’ fire forces evacuation of Hammond Tower

PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George Fire Rescue responded to a small fire Monday morning (Jan.20) that forced the evacuation of residents at Hammond Tower on Third Avenue.
Crews responded to a commercial alarm at around 7:30 a.m. to find that “a small item fire had been extinguished prior to their arrival,” says the City of Prince George.
Once the building was checked, and it was confirmed there was no further hazard, the residents were permitted to return to the building.
There were no reported injuries.
