One dead, another injured in Dawson Creek shooting
DAWSON CREEK—On Sunday, January 19, shortly after 11:00 p.m., Dawson Creek RCMP received reports of gunfire on 102nd Avenue.
Upon arrival, police located an adult male who was deceased. While investigating the scene they received a second report of shots fired at a nearby hotel. When the RCMP arrived at the hotel, they located an individual with non-life-threatening injuries. The individual was taken to the hospital.
Police identified several person’s of interest in connection with both investigations. BC RCMP North District Major Crime Unit has taken conduct of the investigation.
While the Dawson Creek RCMP believe the shootings to be targeted, they are reminding the public to be diligent and to expect an increased police presence in the community.
