Year-over-year passenger numbers up in 2024 at YXS though still below pre-pandemic levels
PRINCE GEORGE — There was a jump in passenger traffic at YXS last year.
The Prince George Airport Authority (PGAA) says 450,494 passengers traveled through the airport in 2024 – an eight per cent increase over 2023.
Despite the increase, passenger numbers are still below pre-pandemic levels. In 2019 496,714 passengers travelled through the airport.
The PGAA says 2024 was a year of “meaningful progress” as it completed its service dog relief area in the departures lounge, donated two aircraft rescue and fire fighting trucks to Barkerville Historic Town & Park, celebrated a flag raising ceremony with Lheidli T’enneh, and finished construction of the “Reflection” area with accessible paths and picnic table.
