PRINCE GEORGE— The 38th Prince George Iceman is just over a week away (Feb. 9). The event combines 8 kilometres (km) of cross country skiing, 15 km of running, 5 km of skating and 800 metres of swimming that is open everyone aged 10 and older.

It’s a race that is hosted all over Prince George from the Otway Nordic Centre, to the Outdoor Ice Oval and the Aquatic Centre as well, but it can’t happen without out the help and support of the community.

“Ice Man requires up to 150 volunteers just to put on the event. The entire board is volunteers. It’s all community driven, so we’re looking for volunteers to come out and help on the day of the event, whether that’s at Otway, The Oval or at the pool. There’s so many different volunteer jobs that are all on our website.,” said Jessica Telizyn, the aquatic coordinator of the event.
