
TWolves fall to UBC Thunderbirds to open final weekend of Canada West regular season
PRINCE GEORGE — The UBC men’s basketball team was finally able to get their revenge, nearly one year after they were beaten by the UNBC Timberwolves in Canada West playoff action.
Friday night at Brownridge Court, the Thunderbirds, who are ranked fourth in Canada, beat the TWolves 84-53. UBC improved to 14-5 on the season, while UNBC dropped to 1-18.
Josh Gillespie finished with 14 points and six rebounds for the TWolves, while Ben White added 11 points and three rebounds of his own. Isaiah Bias also rared out of the gates for UNBC and scored all eight of his points in the first quarter.
Bias, and Chris Ainsley had four rebounds each, while Miller Davies also tied for the team lead with six rebounds of his own.
