PRINCE GEORGE – The Spruce City Wildlife Association comprises hunters, anglers, trappers, and outdoor enthusiasts who advocate preserving wildlife resources. Every two years, some members focus on raising funds through their Wild Game Banquet, an event supporting the association and wildlife conservation efforts. This year marks the 55th annual banquet, where attendees will have the opportunity to sample a variety of dishes, including lynx and elk.

The funds raised from the banquet play a crucial role in supporting these important initiatives.

“ Our volunteers are ready to hit the ground. We just need the funds in order to buy the things we need to carry the programs out properly. “

Another project that volunteers are continuously working on is the Cottonwood Island Chinook Salmon side channel initiative.

The wild game banquet is a one-of-a-kind experience, featuring a buffet that showcases an array of meats rarely seen on traditional dinner tables.

“ The best part of the banquet in my mind, is the wild game buffet. . . we will have cougar lynx there and then moose out and deer, there’s lots of different options, lots of other things to try. And, you know, if you don’t like it, we won’t be mad at you. “

Those looking to support wildlife can purchase a ticket on the Spruce City Wildlife Association website.

A significant portion of the proceeds from this annual event will support wildlife conservation efforts in the Omineca region.
