Spruce Kings

Kings all smiles in preparation for Chiefs

PRINCE GEORGE— The Spruce Kings have won four straight games in their push for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Coastal Conference. They sit just three points back from the Langley Rivermen for that spot with two games in hand ahead of their clash with the conference’s best, the Chilliwack Chiefs.

“Our team’s really been coming together, all the way from our bottom guys to our top guys and also our goalie. The new goalie that we got (Charles-Edward Gravel), he’s been remarkable in between the pipes for us,” said Kings Captain Linden Makow on the teams recent success.

Gravel has won all four games since joining the team, allowing just seven goals over that span. Makow has also been a big part of their success, just recently returning to the lineup after battling through multiple injuries.

“It feels like Makow has been a part of the organization now for 20 years. When you can instill that back onto our bench and into our dressing room, it’s huge. It’s nice to see number 14 get back on the scoresheet and put one in the back of the net. His confidence is growing. I kind of took it as a secondary training camp for him and now he’s back into regular season mode building into playoffs,” said Spruce Kings Head Coach Brad Tesink on having their captain back in the lineup.

Prince George kick off their doubleheader against the Chiefs, tomorrow night (Feb. 21) at 7 PM on home ice at Kopar Memorial Arena.
