Armed home invasion suspects arrested
QUESNEL — Two suspects in a home invasion just south of Quesnel were arrested by RCMP on Sunday (Feb.23).
Police received a report of a home invasion just before 1:30 p.m. at a rural property approximately 10 kilometres south of Quesnel on West Fraser Road.
“Two men produced handguns, entered the residence and threatened and assaulted the victim. A firearm was discharged inside the residence during the encounter, but the victim was not struck by the gun fire. The victim sustained minor injuries during the assault,” says Quesnel RCMP Sgt. Clay Kronebusch.
The two suspects, 35-year-old Eric Joseph Heidemann and 58-year-old Jerry Douglas Clement, are in custody and have been charged with several offences, some of which include pointing a firearm, possessing a handgun for a dangerous purpose, forcible confinement, assault and uttering threats, as well as other firearm-related offences.
