Cougars clinch playoff spot with mid-week sweep of Rockets

PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Cougars defeated the Kelowna Rockets 5-2 Wednesday night at CN Centre before 3,187 fans.

The win allowed the Cougars to clinch a playoff spot for the fourth straight season. Cougars forward Matteo Danis lead the way with three goals and now has 13 on the season.

The Rockets outshot the Cats 25-21 with Joshua Ravensbergen picking up the win in net.

With the win, the Cougars improved their record to 33-19-4-2, good for second place in the WHL’s B.C. Division, five points back of division leading Victoria.
