Spruce Kings hit the road for three crucial games

PRINCE GEORGE— The Spruce Kings kick off their most important road trip of the season on Thursday night in Coquitlam. They enter the tilt just four points back of the Langley Rivermen, with two games in hand, for the Coastal Conference’s final playoff spot.

“We understand where we are as a group. We thought we competed with the top team in our division for two games, didn’t see the results we wanted, but we were right there. I think it’s a step in the right direction,” said Kings Head Coach, Brad Tesink, coming off their most recent home stand against the Chilliwack Chiefs.

While Prince George dropped two close games this past weekend, they have still won four of their last six, keeping them right in the mix with 11 games left in the regular season.

In their last two wins, Owen Goodbrand scored back to back game winners, proving how impactful it is to have him back in the lineup after being sidelined for the majority of the season with an injury.

“It’s awesome. It’s everything I wanted throughout the whole year. I was always looking forward to get back in the lineup. Now that time is finally come, it’s it’s so nice to be back,” said Goodbrand on getting back into Tesink’s squad.

The team will need to get back in the win column during their three game road trip, starting with the Express in Coquitlam.
