Structure fire on Parsnip Crescent causes $450K in damages

PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire on the 1000-block of Parsnip Crescent early Tuesday morning (March 4).

Crews from three firehalls responded to it at approximately 1:40 a.m. to find heavy smoke and flame coming from the roof and eaves of the residential structure on all four sides.

“Crews acted quickly to confine the fire to its area of origin and stop the spread of fire to neighbouring structures,” reads a City of Prince George news release.”All occupants of the home made it out safely and there were no reported injuries to any firefighters or members of the public.”

The cause of this fire is unknown and remains under investigation. Damages are estimated at $450,000.
