PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Spruce Kings split a pair of games against the Langley Rivermen this weekend, as they fell 2-1 in overtime at Kopar Memorial Arena Saturday (March 8) night.

Brock Cummings scored late in the third period to extend the game, but it only took a minute for the Rivermen to come away with the extra point. Keenan Ingram scored the overtime winner for Langley, who also got a goal from Ryan Schelling in the first period.

The Kings took Friday’s game 3-1, as they got three unanswered power play goals from Kazumi Sasaki, Cummings, and Nicolas Papineau into the empty net, after Ingram opened the scoring for the visitors.

Charles-Edward Gravel was in net for both games, and he allowed three goals on 49 total shots. Likewise, Dylan Johnson stopped 65 of 68 shots for the Rivermen.

Next up for the Kings is game against the Sherwood Park Crusaders next Sunday (March 16) at Kopar Memorial Arena. They’ll then play in Coquitlam, Chilliwack and Surrey March 21 to 23 and host the Powell River Kings March 29 and 30 to wrap up the season.
