Shots fired incident near Burns Lake leads to arrest
BURNS LAKE — One person was arrested on multiple charges following a shots fired incident on Sunday just outside Burns Lake.
North District RCMP say that shortly after 3:30 p.m. that afternoon, they were called to a disturbance in Grassy Plains where it was reported that a firearm was involved and that shots had been fired.
With help from the RCMP’s Emergency Response Team (ERT), police executed a search warrant on a home and the suspect was arrested without incident.
Thirty-two-year-old Gerald Noth has been charged with possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, assault with a weapon, uttering threats, and possessing a firearm without a license and/or registration. He has been released on conditions for a future court date.
