PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Spruce Kings have signed 17-year-old forward Dominic Szczygiel for the 2025-2026 season.

The five-foot-11 native of Avenel, NJ has spent the last three seasons with the Christian Brothers Academy and New Jersey Rockets AAA program.

The 2007-born forward put up 50 goals and 83 assists over three seasons in the High School League in New Jersey. He also had nine goals and 14 assists during the Tier 1 Hockey Federation seasons with the Rockets between 2022 and 2025.

Szczygiel also had 25 goals and 39 assists for 64 points in 77 games during his 16U AAA season in 2023-2024.

“Dominic is a skilled forward who can contribute in all areas. He’s a very good 200 foot player. We’re excited to add him to our group next season,” Spruce Kings General Manager Mike Hawes said.

The Spruce Kings are back in action at Kopar Memorial Arena Sunday (March 16) when they host the Sherwood Park Crusaders in their only game of the weekend.

They’re two points back of the Langley Rivermen for the eighth and final playoff spot in the BCHL’s Coastal Conference. The Kings have 43 points from 48 games, while the Rivermen had 45 points from 49 games.

The 54-game BCHL regular season will wrap up on March 30.
