Burns Lake ER reopens

BURNS LAKE — The Emergency Department at the Burns Lake Hospital is running at normal again after being closed overnight.
Northern Health says that Emergency Department services were unavailable between 11 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. Wednesday due to staffing challenges.
Emergency department services at the Lakes District hospital were also interrupted on Sunday after 4 p.m. and a full day on Monday due to staffing challenges.
Northern Health noted that they are continuing to work to fill vacant shifts. This brings the total number of interruptions for the hospital for the month of March to seven.
