PRINCE GEORGE— The Prince George Cougars have just two games remaining in the regular season but still have plenty to play for before the playoffs. This weekend they host the Royals who the Cats are tied with atop the B.C. Division, but Victoria have a game in hand.

“We’ve been going at it with Victoria all year. They’ve got a good hockey club as well. It’d be huge to get a banner for the second year in a row to claim our division, but we’re just going to worry about ourselves and throw the best games we can at them this week,” said Cougars Captain, Riley Heidt.

The team heads into this weekend as not only one of the best home teams in the league, but one of the hottest Western Hockey League sides, winning nine of their last ten games.

“I think our teams just been clicking really well lately. The guys are finding chemistry, which has been really cool to see and the vibes are great locker room right now. It’s been a lot of fun for us,” said Cougars goaltender, Josh Ravensbergen.

It’s also Retro Weekend at the CN Centre, with a mega 50/50, the Cougars sporting retro jersey’s, as well as Riley Heidt Bobblehead Night on Friday (Mar. 21).

“It’s super cool. I don’t really know how you can transform someone’s full body into a bobblehead, but they did a pretty good job. A lot of good details on it and it’s just super cool to be honoured like that,” said Heidt.
