PRINCE GEORGE – After announcing his intentions Friday to run as the Liberal candidate for Cariboo-Prince George, Chris Beach has yet to be confirmed as the candidate.

However, he says that should be cleared up shortly.

“So there was a miscommunication,” he explains. “And unfortunately, just the process for greenlighting candidates, there are now 343 ridings in Canada.”

He says, in B.C. alone, the Liberal Party there are ten or 15 candidates that have not yet been named.

“I’ve done all my paperwork and I’ve done my interviews, but I’m waiting for the process to play out. I’m respecting that. I’m just really excited to finish this process and get going as a candidate in Cariboo-Prince George.”

Advanced polls open April 18 with general election day on April 28th.

CKPG News has reached out to the Liberal Party of Canada to confirm whether or not Chris Beach is indeed a candidate for the party but did not hear back in time for publication of this story.
