Cougars drop Game 3 to Winterhawks

PORTLAND — The Portland Winterhawks defeated the Prince George Cougars 6-3 Tuesday night before 3,808 fans at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
With the win, Portland leads the best-of-seven series 2-1. The Winterhawks scored first and never looked back, leading 2-1 after the first period, 5-2 after the second period before doubling up on the Cats, 6-3.
Bauer Dumanski, Jett Lajoie, and Lee Shurgot scored for Prince George, who were outshot 45-28.
Game 4 goes Wednesday night and Game 5 on Friday night. Game 6, if necessary, would take place Sunday night in Prince George.
