Health care worker to run for NDP
PRINCE GEORGE – Noting her twenty-year background in health care, Angie Bonazzo has thrown her hat in the ring this federal election, running for the NDP in the Cariboo-Prince George riding. This is her first foray into politics.
“I see a lot going on in our community and we need a strong voice in the House of Commons that advocates for the North. I feel that the NDP protects people’s privileges, rights to social policy and health care delivery, and I want to be that voice that protects that in the in the House of Commons.”
In her campaign release, Bonazzo maintains she “has always seen the big picture of workers in our public health care system; she has worked hard to build the power of workers while delivering exemplary care within hospitals and nursing homes.” The riding of Cariboo-Prince George, formerly known as the riding of Prince George-Bulkley Valley, has been a Conservative for more than two decades. But Bonazzo is well aware of that.
“Yeah, we’re in a Conservative territory. These are facts. But by being honest, and transparent and anybody who knows me knows that I’m hardworking and dedicated to the people. So just being me in that solid groundedness, I think we’ll get a message through.”
