PRINCE GEORGE— The Cougars have battled back from a 3-1 series deficit to force Game 7 against the Winterhawks at the CN Centre. The Cats have picked up two must win games to get here, demolishing Portland 7-2 in Game 5 and securing a 4-1 win on Sunday (Apr. 6) to force a do or die Game 7.

“The team has a lot of heart, a lot of character and a lot of want. We want to keep this thing going, we’re a tight group in there and that’s what playoffs are all about,” said Cougars General Manager and Head Coach, Mark Lamb.

Monday night (Apr. 7) will mark the Cougars first Game 7 in 23 years and their first time hosting a Game 7 since 1998.

“It’s everything. We’ve played the whole season up until now and the start of the playoffs preparing for this moment… We’re ready for it and couldn’t be more excited in front of our crowd and we’re going to go out there and give it our all,” said Cougars Captain, Riley Heidt.

“It’s Game 7, right? Game sevens are special. You dream about them, you think about them. If you’re a hockey player, it’s always Game 7. It’s where all your dreams are made,” said Lamb.

The Cougars and Winterhawks rivalry will continue tonight (Apr. 7), with a spot in the second round on the line. Puck drop is at 7 p.m. at the CN Centre.
