Cougars force Game 7 with win over Winterhawks

PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Cougars defeated the Portland Winterhawks 4-1 Sunday night to force a Game 7 in the first round best-of-seven series.

Riley Heidt lead the Cougars with a hat trick with Ben Riche picking up the other Cougars goal.

Riley Heidt now has eight points in five games in the series. Josh Ravensbergen was solid in net, making 26 saves and now has as .900 save percentage in the series.

The announced attendance was 6,016 at CN Centre with another big crowd expected Monday night for the first Game 7 for the Cougars since 2002.
