BC Wildfire warns of fire risk amid drying grass and early ignitions
Apr 11, 2025 | 3:44 PM
PRINCE GEORGE – The risk of wildfires is on the rise as vegetation and other potential fuels begin to dry out.
Since the beginning of this month, BC Wildfire has responded to five new wildfires in the Prince George Fire Centre, all believed to be caused by human activity.
According to BC Wildfire, seeing fires this early in the season is not unusual, as flammable materials like dry grass are starting to ignite more easily.
