1. Why are you running for office?

After seeing the three-headed monster taking our country down, I couldn’t be apathetic. I needed to help make real change in Canada.

2. How does your party plan to address the issue of the U.S. tariffs?

If we had, all along, under many of the previous governments, not sold out Canada to countries like China, if we had made it more appealing for other countries to do business in Canada. Instead of just taking the default gateways into the United States, None of these tariffs would matter. Tariffs wouldn’t be an issue because we would be very much self sufficient– not in everything, but in areas such as farming, fishing, orchards, mining, forestry, tourism… even lite- industry and manufacturing on and on. We could and would have enough, but we have suffered because of policies created by people who don’t understand business and don’t really care about people.

3. How would you address the challenges facing some Aboriginal communities across our region?

Well, I think food security is an important issue. Especially for Aboriginal communities because of their traditional connection to the land, but also everyone, because I think we’ve all been taken out of “nature” and stuffed into a modern world that isn’t so good for us.
I’ve already tried in our area by offering to teach about building and growing with greenhouses.
Unfortunately, the person I was in contact with was extremely busy at the time and it never happened that year.

4. What’s your stance on the development of pipelines?

I’m all for pipelines. They are a resource that we need to encourage our country to be strong. We aren’t quite ready for small nuclear powered facilities, but I feel we need to look to that in the future as well as other sources as we transition away from fossil fuels.

5. How high a priority is affordable childcare for your party? What’s your party’s pitch?

I know my wife worked at an accredited daycare and the staff was all really good and caring, but she said that some children would be there from 6 am to 6 pm and that’s not good for little ones. It removes them from their family. My question would be, why has the government made it so that families need not only two incomes, but probably three or four. A couple each working two jobs or around the clock just to live. LIVING should be affordable. $10 a day childcare? You get what you pay for. How is it that elected politicians and bureaucrats who can afford housekeepers and nannies and private tutors etc… be so condescending- to say they want what’s best (for everyone ELSE) with $10 care.

6. In light of Canada/USA relations, does Canada need to diversify its economy? If yes, in what way?

We should have been building our economy in numerous ways– go back 65 years and we can see everything went south and overseas. We’re suffering now because our government’s been complacent all along. Our whole government needs revamping.

7. What would you do to help seniors?

People tend to think just raise pensions and that’s good but also help support: Various Therapeutic Programs-
Such as Tai-chi/Art/Music/Journaling/Gardening – These engage all people, not just seniors, in life-affirming positive growth and healthy living.
Friendship Centres Computer Resources
Mobil Units for Healthcare Services

8. How would you address the opioid crises?

See above: *life-affirming *positive growth *healthy living
You’ll find the answer to the question you’re looking for. I believe the opioid crises is the symptom of much greater problems in our society as a whole. We need to support people to become healthy again. In ways like I mentioned under the “seniors question”. If we do the same for our children, what need would they have for opioids? They’d be living happy fulfilling lives.

9. Where in the riding do you live? Why? What are your favourite places to spend time in?

I live in Bear Lake because I enjoy the nature around me. The garden, the trees. Growing what I can. It’s a good thing to do. My favourite place to spend time is where I feel a connection to the real natural world.

10. Who’s your favourite singer/band?

My love for all kinds of music is so great I don’t think I can really answer that, but I really appreciate the song, “You gotta find your people,” – Drew Holcomb and The Neighbours.
