PRINCE GEORGE— Two weeks after clinching a playoff spot on the final day of the BCHL regular season, the Spruce Kings are headed to Game 7 against the Coastal Conference’s top seeded Chilliwack Chiefs.

Despite losing the first two games of the series, the Kings have taken care of business on home ice, winning all three of their games at Kopar Memorial Arena, including a 2-0 win on Sunday (Apr. 13).

“It’s super fun to see all the fans in the stands. They cheer us up and help us to get some energy going. The team played super well, so I think we deserve the win,” said Kings goaltender Charles-Edward Gravel on Monday morning (Apr. 14).

Gravel has been a major part of where the Spruce Kings are, as he collected his first BCHL Postseason shutout in Game 6, stopping all 24 shots he faced.

“He is the X factor. Charles has been the number one star for our group over the last few months. It’s given the guys in front of him a lot of confidence. We lean on him heavily for moments when you play against a highly skilled and and dangerous team like Chilliwack. He’s been able to step up consistently for us and give our guys a chance,” said Kings Head Coach, Brad Tesink.

Heading into Game 7, Prince George will have the chance to complete the series comeback and a massive upset in Chilliwack on Tuesday (Apr. 15).

“Every kid dreams of a Game 7, no matter what league it is,” said Kings forward, Nick Metelkin.

“They make seven game series for a reason. We might as well play all of them,” said Tesink.
