Spirit Day 2025: a specialized surgical tool to make cancer surgeries easier

Access to cancer care in Prince George was a major milestone reached a number of years ago. Since then many cancer patients have received care closer to home. Now, through Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation, funds are being raised to purchase a liver retractor for the University Hospital of Northern BC. It’s a specialized piece of equipment designed to give better sightlines and access for surgeons performing abdominal operations, including those for liver cancer.
