Suspicious fires doused in Pine Pass

CHETWYND — North District RCMP is seeking dashcam footage following a series of suspicious fires on the weekend in the Pine Pass area.

Mounties were advised of the fires shortly after 11 p.m. on Sunday, May 4. RCMP made patrols in the area and found a crew dealing with a fire in the Willow Flats area.

Evidence of another fire, that had been extinguished, was located 5 kilometres south near Fisher Creek. This fire was set approximately 30 kilometres from a road.

“These fires appear to have been intentionally set and evidence gathered has been seized for forensic examination. All fires have been extinguished,” says North District RCMP Cpl. Madonna Saunderson.
