Million Dollar Jim nears the finish line
PRINCE GEORGE — The Terry Fox Foundation has officially launched the “Million Dollar Jim” campaign in honour of Jim Terrion, a deaf Prince George citizen who is just $33,000 away from raising one million dollars for cancer research.
Jim was born deaf and was inspired by watching Terry Fox dip his artificial leg into the Atlantic Ocean on TV back in 1980 and has been fundraising ever since. Jim thought “Terry is disabled, and so am I”, so back in 1990, Jim walked close to 10,000 kilometres across the country to raise awareness for people with hearing disabilities. Ever since, he’s dedicated his life to supporting the Terry Fox Foundation.
Now, after more than three decades of fundraising, Jim is on the verge of a historic milestone. His goal is simple, to help find a cure for cancer and keep Terry Fox’s dream alive.
The Terry Fox Foundation just launched a new donation page to help Jim cross the finish line, and they’re asking Canadians and locals to chip in and help him get to his goal.
