This week on To Your Health, we explore a lifesaving device designed to help someone experiencing anaphylactic shock.

A simple injection could save a life. An Epi-Pen is an easy-to-use device with adrenaline that can be used when someone is having an allergic reaction.

In an emergency where the body is going into shock, the adrenaline from the Epi pen will counteract that and stabilize a patient so they can make it to the hospital for further health care.

According to health professionals, once a dose has been administered, it is essential to take the person to the emergency department.
