Prince George MP’s Doherty and Zimmer named to Conservative Shadow Cabinet
PRINCE GEORGE — The Conservative Party of Canada has announced their shadow cabinet Wednesday, and Prince George’s two MP’s are a part of the new shadow cabinet.
MP for Cariboo-Prince George Todd Doherty has been named the Shadow Minister for Addictions. MP for Prince George-Peace River-Northern Rockies Bob Zimmer has been named the Shadow Minister for Arctic Affairs and the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency. Both roles are not new to the long-time MPs, as both held similar roles before the April 28th election.
In 2022, Doherty was named the Shadow Minister for Mental Health and Suicide Prevention. In previous Parliaments, he has served as Deputy Shadow Minister of National Defence, Shadow Minister for Fisheries and Oceans, the Canadian Coast Guard and Asia-Pacific Gateway, as well as Shadow Minister for Transport.
Zimmer, held previously held the role of Shadow Minister for Northern Affairs and Northern Economic Development Agency, before the April 28th election.
