Positive Living North, the organization that operates the Fire Pit, is concerned about the future of the Fire Pit following increases to its rent. Still, it’s a challenging situation for them and the property manager, as BC’s minimum wage has increased to $17.85 an hour, marking the seventh consecutive minimum wage raise since 2019. Four Northern post-secondary institutions, including the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) and College of New Caledonia (CNC), have come together to help create better job opportunities for medical students.
