PRINCE GEORGE — Update: RCMP have released more details regarding Friday evening’s fatal accident on the 3700-block of 15th Avenue.

Police says the incident occurred when a group of people were gathered in the area together. Mounties say a 19-year-old man who was part of the group was struck by a vehicle driven by another member of that group. The man was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries some time later.

The 19-year-old female driver of the vehicle was located near the scene and was arrested for impaired driving causing bodily harm. She was released pending a future court date.

Investigators are now hoping to hear from anyone who has cell phone, video or dash cam footage of the incident. Anyone with any information is asked to contact RCMP at 250-561-3300.

Earlier: One person is dead following a motor vehicle incident over the weekend.
